I was born and raised in Dalton, GA, where I attended Southeast Whitfield High School. Upon graduating from high school, I completed a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Jacksonville State University. I then began teaching as a band director at Oxford Middle and High Schools in Oxford, AL in 2002. While teaching in Oxford, I completed my master’s degree in Music Education from Auburn University. I then moved to Tuscaloosa in 2007 to take a position as band director in the Tuscaloosa City school system so that I could complete further graduate studies. During that time, I completed an educational specialist degree, as well as a doctorate, both in Music Education, at The University of Alabama. I also taught at the college level, teaching applied guitar, music technology, and music appreciation at Central Alabama Community College and Southeastern Bible College.
In 2014, as a Clinical Master Teacher at The University of Alabama, I felt God calling me to do more and to have a greater impact on more people. I then took additional graduate courses in Alabama to complete my certificate in instructional leadership. In 2015, I became the Assistant Principal at The Alberta School of Performing Arts in Tuscaloosa. In 2019, I was named the Assistant Principal at Madison County Elementary School, before coming to Endeavor in 2021.
My wife, Ellen, and I have two sons (Carter and Caleb) and are members of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the Endeavor family and community as Assistant Principal. I look forward to working with you and your child as we all strive together to create effective communicators, independent thinkers, and future leaders. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if I can be of assistance to you or your child in any way.
